What is hypnotherapy?

A safe, creative healing, and evidence based approach

“The mind is a fertile field; hypnosis is the gardener who helps plant the seeds of change. Hypnosis is the key that opens the door to the mind you already own but rarely explore.”

Hypnotherapy is a safe, clinically recognised treatment both internationally and within Australia

Hypnotherapy combines psychological and psychotherapeutic principles with insights from neuroscience and physiology, using focused attention and suggestion to support meaningful changes in your mental and physical wellbeing. Clinical hypnotherapy is completely different from stage hypnosis which is purely for entertainment.

You may have tried conventional psychological therapy, and yet the long-standing re-occurring issues do not seem to shift. This is usually because most people do not realize that our mind operates on two levels: the conscious mind and the subconscious-unconscious mind.

The Conscious Mind:

This is your logical, analytical side. It is where you make plans and "willpower" resides. Your conscious mind is like the tip of the iceberg above the water that is visible. This is the area that conventional therapy works within.

The Subconscious Mind:

This is like a massive unquantifiable library containing all your memories, habits, beliefs, and automatic emotional and physical responses.  Symbolically it is like the invisible massive iceberg structure beneath the ocean’s surface.

Clinical hypnotherapy works within both your conscious and subconscious mind

We collaborate closely with you to induce a state of deep relaxation and focused attention. This gently quiets the analytical conscious mind, allowing access to the subconscious where self-directed change takes place, fostering greater flexibility and resilience in everyday life.

By leveraging the brain's natural neuroplasticity, this evidence-based process supports the rewiring and release of unhelpful thoughts, emotional, behavioural, and health patterns. It can effectively help manage stress and challenging emotional states, resolve trauma, assist with optimizing health, and empower you to build the life you desire, often more rapidly and sustainably than relying on conscious effort or willpower alone.

During the hypnosis you remain fully aware and in control throughout the process. Hypnosis is not mind control, it’s a collaborative psychotherapeutic technique grounded scientific research of the mind and its creative potentiality.
